The next meeting of the Board of Directors: TBD early 2026
Committees are formed to oversee aspects of the Common Lands. There are several committees that are currently set up within the Association:
Lakes and Fishing Committee - This group manages the weed control, stocking of fish and adherence to the fishing rules for all three bodies of water within the Common Lands
The Stable Committee - This group collectively manages the horses that use the Common Lands for grazing. The committee manages the fences, the stables and creates a Pasture Rotation Plan.
The CRMC (Common Range Management Committee) - This group manages the 8 pastures, approx 50 structures, and assets of the Bar-K Association. Part of managing the pastures; they are responsible for the monitoring of the grass height and and informing the Stable Committee when it's time to move horses off any given pasture.
The Garden Committee - This group manages the garden plots, and greenhouse in the community.
The Communications Committee (Temporary) - This group is focused on improvements to communication efforts from the Board of Directors to the membership, including updates to the Bar-K Website.
Each committee elects a chairperson and the Board of Directors assigns a representative to oversee committee management so that committees adhere to the Bylaws of the Association.
The Appointed Representative of the Board of Directors for every committee, appointed annually, will have the authority to ensure that the elected Chairperson will follow the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Association.
The Appointed Representative of the Board will have the authority to attend any meeting called to order by the Chair of the appointed committee.
The elected Chairperson of every committee created annually has full authority to call meetings to address any issues they feel necessary.
A meeting of the committee must be either a written notice posted 3 days in advance or an oral notice to the committee members. The Chair is responsible for the agenda and the minutes taken at every meeting. A copy of the minutes will be available to the Board at the following regular Board of Directors meeting.
The Chair, unless other arrangements are made with the Board Appointee, will be responsible for reporting at every BOD meeting, in person or a written report. Any project on Common lands must be pre-approved by the BODs. (Committees do not have the authority to bind the Association or the Board of Directors by their actions.
All proposed changes suggested during committee meetings need final board approval.
