The next meeting of the Board of Directors: TBD early 2026
1) NO MOTOR VEHICLES are allowed on Common Lands except for maintenance projects. Motor vehicles are allowed on established roads. No all-terrain, no off-road vehicles, and snowmobiles are permitted on Bar K land. ( Insurance liability exclusion ) To operate any off road vehicle on association land the owner must provide proof of liability insurance and provide the Bar-K Association with a current copy prior to any usage on Common Lands.
2) OPEN FIRES of any nature are expressly prohibited pursuant to Boulder County policy.
3) DOGS - NO DOGS are allowed on any common lands unless they are on leash or STRICT voice control when members or other members with dogs are present. Report dogs at large @ 303-441-4444 (sheriff's dept).
4) EQUIPMENT - No motorized equipment owned by the Bar-K Association will be loaned to any member.
5) NO GATES may be installed in fences bordering Bar-K Association lands without prior approval of the Board of Directors, any gate installed becomes the property of the Bar-K Association.
6) NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES permitted on Common Lands. Due to liability issues alcohol is forbidden on common lands. Our ability to insure this property is dependent on this rule. This is a zero tolerance rule that must be enforced. Anyone breaking the alcohol policy will have their membership immediately revoked.
7) COMMON LAND USE - Any immediate family of a member can use the Common Lands and Lakes without supervision. Guests of a member, limited to 4 individuals at a time, need to be accompanied by the member or another resident of members household.
8) COMPENSATION - No member or organization may use the Bar-K Common Lands for any activities involving any compensation of money or goods.
9) THE USE OR SALE OF FIREARMS is prohibited on Association Land. (Insurance liability exclusion)
10) NO SWIMMING in any Bar-K lakes. Swimming is no longer allowed in the common land lakes due to an insurance exclusion within our General Liability policy for the Association. Swimming is defined by the Bar-K Board of Directors as the immersion of the body in water above the knee or using arm or leg motion to propel in water whether by natural flotation or the use of secondary flotation devices. Mounting/dismounting of watercraft is allowed if the intended purpose is to stay above the water surface.
11) INNER TUBES ARE PROHIBITED - Multi-chambered belly boats are allowed on all Bar-K Association lakes. Chest waders with life jackets are also allowed.
12) SPECIAL EVENT REQUESTS are limited to 10 plus immediate family at Rock Lake and 30 plus immediate family at the Wapiti picnic area. Parties are limited to 4 hours to minimize the impact to the rest of the community. See Picnic Areas for more.
13) GUESTS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED AT ALL TIMES ON BAR-K COMMON LANDS

A) All Bar-K Association members grazing equine will adhere to the Common Range Management Plan and Livestock Rules and Regulations.
B) Bar-K Association permits 2 equine and 4 llamas per membership on Bar-K Association land. All other requests to utilize Bar-K Association Land for livestock will be reviewed and determined by the board of directors on a case-by-case basis. All pastures owned by the Bar-K Association, with the exception of Stables Pasture, will be closed to all livestock grazing from October 15 to June 1 of each year.
C.) Infractions of posted Livestock Rules and Regulations or Stable Agreements will be resolved, if possible, by the Stable Committee. If the violation cannot be resolved at the Committee level, and the member continues to violate the posted rule, the Board of Directors will be informed. If the member/owner refuses to comply, the Board of Directors will contact the member by email and/or certified mail, and will meet in person with at least 2 members of the Board of Directors for an opportunity for the member to appeal their violation. The location and time of this meeting will be determined by the Board of Directors, and if the member chooses not to attend, they will need to immediately remove their own livestock from Association Lands for 30 days. If the Board agrees with the decision of the Stable Committee, they will remove their own livestock for 30 days for the first offense, and 90 days for any additional infractions within one year, with no loss of membership. Only if the member still does not comply and remove their livestock, the Board would have no other option except to remove the membership for up to 1 year and call Boulder County Sheriff.
D) No owner or member of Bar-K Association can lease any livestock to another member to utilize
Association Land for livestock.
E) Members are financially responsible for all areas of care associated with their livestock and upkeep. Land areas owned by Bar-K Association are for the exclusive use of currently paid members and their guests.
F) All members and their guests utilize the Association Land at their own risk, and specifically waive and release all claims against the Bar-K Association, its directors and members arising from the use of Association Common Lands and Lakes.
G) Prior to the introduction of any livestock to Bar-K Association Common Lands, the Association Member must provide proof of ownership and reside full time in the Bar-K Ranch Subdivision.
