The next meeting of the Board of Directors is May 20th 2025 Available by Teams Meeting
Jack Kutscher- President
Raised in the small town of Nederland where my parents moved from Ohio in 1957. There were about as many people living in Nederland as there are in the Bar- K now. Graduated high school 1966 and in 1968-71 served active duty in the US Army. While in the military I got married and in time we had 4 children. Long story short we moved to the Bar-K subdivision in1989 from Longmont and I have lived here ever since. Became involved in the Association in 1991 when I wrote the first Pasture Rotation plan. Was elected a couple years later to the Board of Directors. Have served on the Board of Directors for over 25 years. My family once had 25 llamas,12 peacocks, 5 dogs, 2 geese and a couple of barn cats all at one time. And that was after we sold our horses and one miniature burro. Now we have 2 dogs and a lot less work.

Margie Airola- Treasurer
I have lived in the Bar-K since 2000, with my husband (Jim) and our 4 sons, who have now grown and flown. Our grandkids think this is the best place ever! We originally moved to CO after graduating from the Univ. of Illinois in 1985, and we rented a house up on Rock Lake Road for a year. What a learning experience that was! There were only party lines for phones. We had such fond memories of living up here that when we had the opportunity to move back and bring our family to the Bar-K, we jumped on it.
I have been on the Board of Directors since Harry Hempy first showed me the pastures in 2000. Through the years, I have been nominated to hold all of the positions on the Board, but being the Treasurer is the most fun. I have enjoyed meeting all of the wonderful families and friends in this place that I call, "Home." Together, we have lived through many different crazy years and nicknamed them," The Year of the Snow, Flood, Bear, Wind, Fire, and Caterpillar!" With a sense of Humor intact, I will continue to serve our community as best as I can.
Erika Archer - Secretary
I’ve been a proud Bar-K resident since 2000 - unwittingly part of some kind of Y2K migration, I suppose. My husband Scott and I had both finished up our grad work at the University of Hong Kong, and decided we needed some fresh mountain air in our lungs while we worked together in the midst of the Boulder tech boom. It must have been the right move because before we knew it we were raising three kids in a community we love and we have never looked back. When the 2013 Flood hit, we learned just how valuable our community is. I have fond memories of trading things like sticks of butter for cookies during those several days we were all stuck up here without power! Since then, we have worked hard to improve our sustainability, raising backyard chickens, bees, and adding solar capacity to our home. Currently, I'm a Grant Officer for the University of Colorado Boulder, as well as a REALTOR® serving my mountain community. I love playing music, writing, and gardening - and that view out my window just never grows old.
Gary Couture - Project Manager
Originally from Vermont, I moved to Colorado in 1993. I’ve been living in the Bar K for about 12 years with my wife Cyndi. I moved into the Bar-K the year of the flood of 2013 which presented many challenges and a crash course in hardiness for new mountain dwellers. The challenge was accepted and we learned to adapt. I've been on the Board since 2020 and have been involved with converting our documentation to digital form, expanding the website, helping to modernize the bylaws, and many mitigation projects. It’s been a pleasure to serve on the Board of Directors for the Bar-K. I'm on the lakes committee managing stocking and lake maintenance with Jack. I also oversee new building projects for the Association.

Bob Tarrantino - Member at Large
I was born in The Bronx, a long time ago 😂 We moved to Colorado and the Bar K from Long Island in 2004.
My wife and I founded, owned and operated an electronics distributorship, Rodale Tech (Robert-Dale) for 30 years before selling it and retiring. My passions are Family, Music and Meditation. Dale and I have been married for 49 years, we have 4 daughters and 8 grandchildren. I studied Meditation from various teachers and at Queens College in the Science of Creative Intelligence, Meditation program. We founded the Unifying Meditation Institute, UMI, where we teach Meditation free of charge. I have played guitar since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Back in New York I became an Audio Engineer and built a studio on my property here in the Bar K.
I am happy to serve on the Bar K board and have been a board member for 10 years. I am also on the UMI board and the Colorado Friendship Board.
